On the 37th day of his ongoing Bharat Jodo Yatra, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi traversed several villages in the Anantapuramu district of Andhra Pradesh on Friday evening. The route included Jajarakallu, Madenahalli, Lakshmipuram, D Hirehal, and Obulapuram villages situated on the Karnataka-Andhra Pradesh border. Welcomed warmly by AP Congress president Sake Sailajanath, working president N Tulasi Reddy, former minister N Raghuveera Reddy, and other senior leaders, Rahul entered Kanukuppa village under D Hirehal mandal.
The journey concluded at the Obulapuram checkpost, after which Rahul returned to Ballari in Karnataka for an overnight stop. The Bharat Jodo Yatra, which began on September 7, will have covered a distance of 1,000 km in 38 days when Rahul Gandhi addresses a significant rally in Ballari on Saturday. Notable national leaders, including Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, are scheduled to address the rally.
Karnataka Congress president D K Shivakumar shared with the media that the municipal ground in Ballari is expected to host more than 3 lakh attendees for the rally. Rahul Gandhi, who covered a distance of 24 km to reach the outskirts of Ballari on Friday, is set to continue his walk on Saturday morning.
Throughout the Bharat Jodo Yatra, Rahul Gandhi adheres to a routine that includes 20-minute workouts, a light breakfast, and a daily walk of 25 km. The Karnataka Congress reported that his day commences at 5 am and concludes at 11 pm. The yatra has so far traversed three states—Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka.
